Taylor Fritz Defeats Steve Johnson to Reach ATP Memphis Quarterfinals; Junior Orange Bowl Videos; Women's Team Indoor All-Tournament Team;

Tonight at the ATP Memphis Open, Taylor Fritz picked up his third ATP level win and his first Top 30 win, beating No. 2 seed Steve Johnson 7-6(5), 7-6(7).  Fritz lost his serve to start the match, but eventually got the break back and after taking a big lead in the tiebreaker, closed it out. The 18-year-old then broke Johnson to start the second set, but after a very long second game, Johnson broke back and that was the extent of the service breaks.  Johnson served well in the match, hitting 12 aces and only one double fault, and he saved Fritz's first match point, at 5-6 in the second set tiebreaker, with an ace.  Johnson had a set point at 7-6 after holding serve again, but it was Fritz who won the final three points of the match to reach his first ATP quarterfinal.  He will play Benjamin Becker of Germany Friday afternoon.

I finally did get the Junior Orange Bowl videos processed at the end of last month. Videos of the champions--Marta Kostyuk, Thiago Tirante, Daria Lopatetska and Xiaofei Wang--are below, with videos of the finalists--Naomi Cheong, Anton Matusevich, Noa Krznaric and Jewon Jeon--available on my YouTube channel by clicking on their names.

Oh my, Baylor gets blown out by Ohio State 5-0 in 1 hour 55 minutes! Is Ohio State that good or Baylor that bad. My money is on the latter.

colette, what happened to Morgan Stone at Santa Clara? He is no longer on the roster

Looks like Baylor will be wearing pink once again following their humiliating defeat!

Would love to know what happened with Stone as well. Really love what his mom has done for the junior tennis community. Did some digging and it seems to appear he's done with tennis after whatever happened. All that's known is that he isn't on the roster anymore, which is a shame. Especially after moving across the country to play.

Ya, it is odd to get play by play of every move the kid makes for years including his first solo trip on an airplane, then get radio silence when something actually happens that relates to tennis. Strange indeed.
